The dreaded ZZZs. It’s exactly what we don’t want to do to our readers. That is make them fall asleep as they are read our books. We want our novels to be so engaging that they have a hard time putting it down so much so they don’t want to go to sleep.
This has happened to me so many times where I’m so into the book that it’s hard to put it down. I still remember waking up not to long ago and my Kindle was on my bed beside me. I was so close to the end of a book the night before that I wanted to get it finished. However, my poor body didn’t agree with me and I’d fallen asleep at some point trying to read the rest. So in this case, I guess the ZZZs were good because the book did exactly what it was supposed to: engage me so much I just didn’t want to put it down. However, I didn’t like this as I’d only had one or two pages left on the Kindle and I would have been done with the book. Oh, well. At least it was a good book.
Have you ever had that happen before where the book was so good you didn’t put it down? Have you ever fallen asleep trying to do this? What are some of your favorite books that kept you up late into the night?

Books that make me sleepy are usually ones with too much detail and very little going on. Heh. I’ve experienced books that got me staying up late at night too, sometimes I regret reading them at night ’cause I wanna sleep, yet I don’t want to, it’s like a strange dilemma going on. Haha.

Oh I know what you mean about reading a book until the wee hours of the morning when you know you should be sleeping. It was so bad one night that I was just trying to finish the book because I knew I was close to the end. I woke up the next morning with my Kindle beside me as I’d fallen asleep before finishing it. The sad part is I had like two more pages left and the book was done. LOL

I have to smile because until that day it’d never happened to me either. LOL I guess, as they say, there’s a first time for everything. đŸ˜€
