I have been for as long as I can remember a night owl. When I hear about those people who can get up every morning at four or five on their own without an alarm clock I’m dumbfounded because if I allowed my body to sleep as long as it wanted it’d sleep until 10, 11, 12, even 1pm. Yeah, I know, that is really late. But then I can also stay up until 3, 4, 5am without any problems.
However, we only have one car, which can be a little inconvenient, but as a result because my husband has to be to work every morning by 6am, on the days I have physical therapy, which is two days a week, I have to get up with him so I can drive him into work to be able to have the car. This then forces me to get up with him between 4:30 and 5am. Man, in stinks to get up that early but at the same time I have a longer day which helps with that old saying of how we’d all like to add a few more hours to our day.
Even though, I’m still that night owl. It’s hard for me to actually go to sleep until after 11pm and even sometimes at midnight. And because I homeschool our niece/daughter I’ve decided to help with keeping us on a regular schedule, that we get up every morning now with my husband and we start school around 6 to 6:15am. While I don’t like getting up that early, I do however like how my day ends early giving me more free time. Now if only I could discipline myself to better use my time, but I’ll leave that for another discussion.
So, how about you. Are you a morning person or a night owl?

I’m squarely in the middle–middle of the day that is! LOL! Early and late if for the birds. 😉

LOL, Zan Marie, I totally understand that. It’s like you get your main steam for the day right in the middle.

Kristena, I’m that morning person who has often gotten up at 3 a.m. so I could work on writing projects. I love the early mornings and to see the sun rise as I write. My husband is the night owl, and see how hard it is for him to rise up so early. I applaud your efforts to get up that early. Keep on the goal!

Jean Ann, thank you so much. I will tell you it isn’t early. Today, for example, is the start of our weekend as we only homeschool Monday through Thursday so I made the decision to get up early to start doing things. It has been easy but the reward has been good. You never know, maybe I’ll turn into a morning person. LOL
