Everyone’s writing time is individualized to that person and what works best for them. One person may only have an hour at lunch time to devote to the craft whereas someone else may have the entire day. We all lead different lives. Some are married while others are single. Some have children others don’t. Some have a job outside the home and some may have no job at all. We can’t judge someone else’s output by what they do.
Personally, I am now a stay home mom who homeschools her niece. I work around the school schedule I have laid out. My weekends are free to write as well as down time for myself during the school day and when we get finished.
When I was working, I’d try to write as much as I could at night and then on the weekends. Writing has become a love of mine.

My writing is also done mostly on the weekends. Sometimes it bothers me that this season doesn’t allow for as much writing time as I previously had, but there are so many joys to having young children. And I need to keep it up with the times I do have.

Julia, you are so right. Having young children is a precious time. A time later that we will wish we could go back to because time seems to go quicker and quicker as we get older. I’me so thankful that God has blessed me and my husband with the two little ones we now get to raise. No, they are not biologicaly our. However, they are still our niece and nephew and we love them to pieces. I know we are making such a huge difference in their lives. I thank the Lord everyday for the time we get to be with them.
