Well, this is a little different. There are so many things where there is a warning, especially on TV, where it says, “Do Not Try This At Home.” I think of that movie “Jack (you know the word)” where there is a guy who I guess does a bunch of really stupid things. Personally, I’ve never seen this movie and really never want to either.
Dare devils who do their death-defying stunts. And you’re like, “Yeah right would I try that at home. I’m sane.”
Or how about those who go after things like crocodiles or other dangerous creatures. They all are life-threatening things so the disclaimer is always to tell us not to try it at home. And the majority of us won’t, which is a good thing.
So how about writing? With as many differing people and personality types in the world today, you can then probably imagine all the different types of writers. You have plotters, like myself, who need to plot out everything in their story before they write a single word. And then you have pantsers where they just go by the “seat of their pants” and write whatever comes to mind. Whether we can only give 10 minutes at a time to our writing or 24 hours in a row, we need to do whatever works for us the best. The things to remember in all of this is to keep moving forward and don’t drive ourselves crazy in the process.
