I was just going through comments left on this site and Suzanne Ong nominated for the Liebster Award. This is a pleasant surprise to find. So you might be asking, "What is a Liebster Award?" Basically it is an award given by fellow bloggers to other bloggers who have fewer than 200 followers. It's a way to help bring them more exposure so that really great blogs that might other wise be missed can be more easily found. Here are the simple rules for accepting the award: List 11 random … [Read more...]
I’ve been away…
My 365 day writing journey, as you've probably notice, has come to stop over the past couple of weeks. I've been dealing with computer issues and also having to try and fix my computers. As a result my writing journey hasn't been happening. My hope is that I will be able to pick it back up at the beginning of June. In the mean time, please stop by each Friday for The Journey. My hope is that each person story that is share might encourage you in some way like it does me. … [Read more...]
Day 78: Dimes in Ivory Soap
I really loved this one. To put it simply. Only I know my complete past. Only you know yours. Only every person out there today knows their complete past. So you might be saying, "So what." The thing is if you don't write down your past who will. There is a very high probability that unless you're someone like Lady Diana or Billy Graham that no one else will but you. It's just like Mari's story. I already know that unless I write it down that the chance of it ever being written is slim to … [Read more...]
Day 76: Writers Gnashing Teeth
Well, today's topic is interesting. I don't think I've ever ground my teeth. Maybe other writers have. I'm guessing they might do it when they are putting down to paper that next important scene. Or maybe that next blog post. When I think of gnashing teeth I think about what the Bible says of those who are unbelievers once they die and they go to hell. It says there will be gnashing of teeth due to the severity of how bad it will be to go down there. All I can say about myself is that I'm … [Read more...]
Day 73: Starting Again and Again
I think we all have our times when we start something only to stop, then we come back and start again going through the cycle over and over. Whether it's a job where we start each day anew and by the time we are getting off we have our ending each day as well. Or if we start some new craft project like crocheting a blanket. Some people don't get easily bored. But if you're anything like me I can only go so long before I get bored with what I'm doing and I stop for a while only to start again … [Read more...]

Our Father’s Love
Yesterday we received one big box of belated Christmas presents and in it was a printed piece of paper. The words on the page went straight to my heart and touched it deeply. I felt so moved that I had to share it with all of you. I was going to type of the words in here but found that it had been put to a video. I want to share that video with you now. Please let me know what you think once you've watched. … [Read more...]
Confucius…
He said, "To go beyond is as wrong as to fall short." Do I agree with this? Absolutely not. Why would it be wrong to go beyond what you expect or thought you would. I think of goals and my writing. When I set one, the main focus is to not only make the stated goal but to also exceed it if at all possible. You feel good not only about making it but surpassing it. On the opposite side, if you don't make it you tend to beat yourself up and feel terrible about it. I've always been told to set … [Read more...]
Day 4: Alaska
In one word: Alaska. To start with, it has to be one of the most beautiful places that I've not only been to but lived before. I mean, Colorado Springs, Colorado, was gorgeous. Keith and I loved it there. In fact, we've talked about retiring there since we left back in 1997 when Keith got off active duty the first time. We fell in love with the beauty that surrounded us. We loved the mountain back drop. It was just nice. I'd have to say that Alaska tops Colorado. Not only do we have mountains … [Read more...]
Day 3: An Airplane
I think of an airplane and I think of flying high. Airplane's take us places faster than anything else on this planet. We can fly across the ocean from one continent to another an it only take hours instead of the days and weeks it used to with our ancestors. Where my husband, Keith, and I live now, we live right next to the Air Force field and constantly throughout the day, and sometimes even night, fighter jets are constantly taking off and landing. When we first moved into our new home, it … [Read more...]
