The antagonist, the one we all love to hate, or at least most of the time, as we read our stories and immerse ourselves into the world of the characters we grow to love.
In my fiction story, my antagonist is my protagonists mom. She one of these types of characters that likes to make sure appearances count. She doesn’t know how to show lover to her two girls because her own mom never showed her what love is really supposed to look like.
Sometimes within a story the antagonist happens to be a war being fought within the protagonists self. He or she is at odd with what to do and make bad decisions along the way.
Sometimes the antagonist might be a perfectly nice person but because the hero or heroine doesn’t get along with that person they become the character’s nemesis.
Do you have a book you love with a great antagonist? What made you love that book so much? What drew you to it? I guarantee that the antagonist had a lot to do with it because it brings about the conflict which drives the story forward.

I agree, antagonists play a huge part in a story and also in a protagonist’s life. The antagonist at the top of my head at the moment are Finnick Odair and Effie Trinket from The Hunger Games. If you’ve read the book, you would see how these two characters help Katniss Everdeen throughout her journey in the Games 🙂
