Four. Five potato, six potato, seven potato more. Hee Hee.
You know the old saying. I used to say that all the time as a kid. Does it really mean anything or stand for anything? I don’t think so. However, it’s a great topic starter. Do you have any old saying you used to love to say when you were a kid or old song you’d used to sing?
One of my favorites song went like this:
Little Bunny Foo Foo went hopin’ through the forest scoppin’ up the field mice and boppin’ ’em on the head.
Then down came the Goooooooooodddd Fairy and she said,”Little Bunny Foo Foo I don’t want to see you scoppin’ up the field mice and boppin’ ’em on the head.
“I’ll give ya three more chances and if you’re not good I’ll turn ya into a goon.”
And then…
(And this of course continues over and over down to where LIttle Bunny Foo Foo has been given all his chances and here’s the ending)
Then down came the Goooooooooodddd Fairy and she said,”Little Bunny Foo Foo I don’t want to see you scoppin’ up the field mice and boppin’ ’em on the head.
“I gave ya three chances and you weren’t good so I turn you into a goon.” Poof.
One of the favorite parts to singing this song was making sure you have your pointer and middle fingers up as the bunny ears and had your hand jumping up and down signifying the bunny jump. You take your hand to show it like it’s scooping up the field mice and then you have it bop them on their imaginary head.
When my daughter was alive, we used to sing to her every night “Five Little Monkey’s Jumpin’ on the Bed.” She used to get such a kick out of it and her laughter would fill the room. You’d laugh with her sometimes because it was so infectious. She was such a sweet little girl.
So, do you have any songs you used to sing as a kid or maybe sayings? Please share them. I’d love to hear them.
