My plan this morning had been to get back to writing my 365 day journey. However, I came across something in my email this morning that I’m quite excited about. It’s the ACFW Pre-Conference Mix and Mingle. Laurie Tomlinson has been gracious enough to start this and I’m excited to participate. All you have to do is answer a few questions, which I’ve put below. If you’d like to join in the fun and add yourself to the list, please click this link: laurietomlinson.com and if you don’t have a website, please put your answers in the comments section below.
Name: Kristena Tunstall
Location: JBER, Alaska (Joint Base Elmendorf AFB/Fort Richardson right next to Anchorage)
What you write/tagline/trademark: Contemporary Romance / “Stories of grace in the beautiful mess”
Place in the book world: While I’m not published (yet 🙂 ), my hope and prayer is I will find an agent who’d like to represent me at the ACFW Conference this year. I will be pitching two different books this year. One is a memoir about what happened with my daughter after she contracted E. coli and then my grief journey that followed after losing her. My other book is a women’s fiction novel.
On a scale of hugger to 10-foot-pole, please rate your personal space: The more hugs the merrier. 🙂
The unique talking point that will get you going for hours: Talking about my daughter 🙂
Loved ones at home you’ll be missing: My husband, our daughter/niece, and of course Sierra (our Boxer), Cody (our Jack Russel Terrier), and Bandit (my sweet little kitty, only he’s not so little)
Conference goals we can pray for? That while I pitch my daughter’s book, an agent will want to find out more to possibly represent me. And that while I’m pitching her book, if I cry, that I will be able to keep the tears under control as this story is very close to my heart.
Anything we can celebrate with you? That I was able to not only get my memoir finished in time for conference, but that I’ve worked very hard with my editor, Dierdre Lockhart, as she has been a literal God send in my life and how she helped me to make this story so much better as a result.
I’ve also had the part 1 of this book with beta readers and 8 of the 9 who read it said they loved it. It’s like God was telling me I’ve written the right book.
One or two ways we can help you build your platform? If you could follow me on this website, Networked Blogs, Google+, Twitter, and my Kristena Tunstall Author Facebook page on the right, and my Mommy’s Angel in Heaven Facebook page: facebook.com/mommysangelinheavenwebsite.
I want to personally thank you for taking the time to stop by my site. I look forward to stopping by and “meeting” all the others who’ve joined in and hopefully being able to meet you at conference.

Praying for you often! I’m glad I’ve “gotten to know” you!
Kristena Tunstall says
Thank you Laurie. Not only do I appreciate every last prayer, I know how much I need them. I continue to try to remember that this story I’ve written about what happened with my daughter and sharing my grief journey is because God led me in this direction. I continue to pray for His will with her story and that He may use it according to His plan. It took me so long to even see my writing as a gift as I fought being a writer. I had not interest before my daughter died. But God had other plans. I thank the Lord for this gift and I’m so grateful for it.
