Please welcome this weeks guest Lori-Ann White for The Journey. She answers the question: How have you seen God work in your writing journey? I’ve always been a bit…different, but no one expected me to move from academic excellence for the better part of six years at a university—and no degree. Thanks to such a stellar display of unparalleled brilliance, I’ve been at home for the past two years. What seemed like the worst possible thing has turned into numerous opportunities for growth, and … [Read more...]
Writing Mari’s story
Today has been an interesting day as I try to take "Her Hospital Story" and make it into a full length book. I came to a section where it kind of stumped me as to how I really should write it. I have so many things that I feel are so important to make sure they are included in this story to get it right. Probably the most important is the emotional aspect. I want the reader to be able to feel how I felt during this time. And to do this requires that I tap into those emotions from that time … [Read more...]
A new weekly column introduced
I am excited and proud to announce my new Thursday weekly column. It will be centered around this question: How have you seen God work in your writing journey? Starting July 12, my first guest blogger tells us about her writing journey and how God has worked in it. I hope all the stories that are posted on this site will touch your life like they have mine already. If you're interested in sharing your journey, please click on 'The Journey' Request at the top of this page. Then fill out the … [Read more...]

We as writers put words down on a page. Those pages can lead to an article, short story, novella, or even a full-length novel, which we really hope becomes the next great America masterpiece (we can all dream can’t we). Some of us have a website or blog that we write on once in a while, once a month, once a week, a few times a week, to even once a day. We want to share our thoughts, hopes, dreams, and inspirations with those around us. The words on our pages become a part of us as we share it … [Read more...]
The Unsung Hero of the Army, Part 1
About three and half years ago I sat down one evening and interviewed someone who is very near and dear to me: my husband Keith. I did this as an assignment for my creative writing nonfiction college class I was taking at the time. I thought I would share this interview with all of you now. My sincerest hope is you will be as moved as those I initially shared this with. As it is about 3,000 words long, this will be broken up into two segments. One today and one tomorrow. Please comment and let … [Read more...]
The “Softening”
In a month, Mari will have been gone for four years. I have talked several times over the last four years in how the day she died is not an anniversary as this signifies happiness to me. My eighteen year wedding anniversary was this past February. That is a happy time. Mari’s death, anything but. However, I have come to call it the mark. When Mari died I became wrapped up in the utter sorrow and sadness of it all. My heart felt like it had been ripped open and a gaping would left in its … [Read more...]
Joining GoodReads
I finished reading this book from a fellow author of mine that I know through ACFW. Her name is Rhonda Gibson. She is the recently published author of The Marshal’s Promise. I love the book. I purchased it as an e-book. After finishing it this evening, I read the last page where she wrote a short letter to the reader. On it, it mentioned her website www.rhondagibson.net. I went to go check it out because I wanted to write a comment to let her now I had finished it and how much I truly enjoyed … [Read more...]

What does it mean to nurture?
When God created women, He knew well beforehand that they would become mothers. I have no doubt in my mind He had a long list of what a mother’s qualities and characteristics not only would be but needed to be. Those included loving and show unconditional love, compassionate, friendly, unselfish, kind, patience, teaching their children right and wrong as well as God and how Jesus died on the cross. For obvious reasons, Jesus dying on the cross is number one as we need to do all we can as … [Read more...]
I’m so excited…
It is such an exciting time for me as I begin my new writing journey here with you. I started this website so I could connect with my readers and those who have yet to find me. I want this website to be another extension of who I am. This will enable you to get to know who I am a little bit better. I plan to start writing about the projects I am currently working on as well as any other tidbits that might interest you along this journey. You will be able to get to know the characters I've … [Read more...]
