As it has become the norm every day while we do school, KLove is on in the background. Not just to have music on, because that is always nice. But it is more than that for us. First, it one of us gets frustrated, it seems to calm us. Talk about a blessing. It’s the words in the songs that are played.
But then there are songs that just tug at your own heart as they touch you in a personal. The words cut straight to your heart. For me, it happened again today. The song “Not For A Moment” by Meredith Andrews came onto the radio. Look at the words to this song:
You were reaching through the storm
Walking on the water
Even when I could not see
In the middle of it all
When I thought You were a thousand miles away
Not for a moment did You forsake me
Not for a moment did You forsake me
CHORUS
After all You are constant
After all You are only good
After all You are sovereign
Not for a moment will You forsake me
Not for a moment will You forsake me
You were singing in the dark
Whispering Your promise
Even when I could not hear
I was held in Your arms
Carried for a thousand miles to show
Not for a moment did You forsake me
Chorus
And every step every breath You are there
Every tear every cry every prayer
In my heart at my worst
When my world falls down
Not for a moment will You forsake me
Even in the dark
Even when it’s hard
You will never leave me
After all
Chorus
Not for a moment will You forsake me
I went to go copy the words to paste in here to find a spot where it wouldn’t necessarily be relevant to what I’m talking about and the entire song is exactly what happened both during the time Mari was in the hospital and then from the day she died to today. God is there for us. We may never understand why He lets a tragedy happen in our lives. However, what we need to remember and hopefully can give you peace as it has me, that He is always right there carrying you through it. He will never leave your side. He gives you the strength to give through. For me that is priceless. There is no amount of money in the world that could give me the peace I have in my heart of losing my daughter knowing that God is there and that one day I will get to see her again in Heaven. I thank the Lord for the knowledge He has given me to understand this. My hope is the words to this song might encourage you as they have me.
