I haven’t felt like doing my personal quiet time for a while now. Ever since I got sick where my stomach felt nauseated for over two months last August. I just have no desire to do it at all anymore. I’ve prayed about it but the desire is still not there.
Well, I decided to spend the last couple of hours literally going through many, many reading plans on bible.com. They have tons to choose from and probably add more to their database all the time.
I have now saved over 80 different plans to eventually go through. It might be a bit much (ya think 🙂 ), but I can choose from those in the future easy enough.
The first one I plan to do is called “Standing Strong.” It is ten days long. Here’s what the info on the play says:
“Dear sister, are you exhausted, needing new life in your walk with Christ? Read on and find out how you could be Standing Strong! Amy Groeschel will encourage you with powerful Scripture and ten daily readings she’s written to renew your passion for Jesus. All devotional Scriptures are taken from the New International Version of the Bible unless otherwise noted.”
I thought this might be a good starting point again. I guess only time will tell how well I do.
So what about you? Do you struggle to get a daily quiet time in? If you have a consistent daily quiet time, how have you made it a priority in your life? Do you have any suggestions to help make it a priority in someone’s life?

If I don’t have my quiet time first thing when I get up, it most likely won’t get done. I’m an early riser, so the only other things competing for that time of the morning are exercise and writing. But as I said, if I don’t do the quiet time with Bible reading and prayer first, it doesn’t get done. So I’ve learned to give it first priority. Not saying I always feel like doing it! And there are occasions where I skip it. But first thing in the morning is the only way I know to make it my priority.

I am not a morning person at all. However, when I was doing them on a consistent basis I always purposely got up early to do it. It seems like it’s the best time even for a night owl like me to get it down and really focus on it. Now I need to somehow re-motivate myself to start doing it again. Not easy to do. I ended up writing something about motivation because of how unmotivated I’ve been with both my personal quiet time as well as my writing.
