Do you remember back to when you were a kid and your first friend? I don’t know if the person I’m thinking of was actually my first friend. I just know that I knew her clear back to when I was in Kindergarten. Her name was Julie Buffington. She was the main friend I had when I was little. She was a couple of years older than me if I’m remembering her correctly. Here’s a picture from many, many moons ago. It’s not the greatest quality but you can see me on the right, I’m about 6 or 7 years old. Julie is the one standing up. And don’t ask me who is in the bottom left corner as I have no clue:

At the time I met her, I lived with Granny and Grandpa. They lived in a mobile home park and Julie lived in the same one. We used to play together all the time and I remember us playing Uno many times (it must have been a favorite).

When my mom moved us from the Portland, Oregon area down to Yuba City, California, I lost touch with her. I probably haven’t talked with her in about 30 years. But I will always remember that friendship and how much it meant to me back then.
