Secrets of Willow Shade released August 21, 2012 in e-book format by Desert Breeze Publishing. It is the first in a series set in Logan County, KY, the county where the author was born. Logan County has a lot of history and even more folklore. Secrets is a warm romance mixed with suspense, filled with family bonds, a failed marriage and inspiration to forge ahead.
Maddy Kennedy sets out on a journey to find her biological father. The quest leads her to be chased by a madman. Vandal Cole insists he is a descendant of the outlaw, Jesse James, whose parents also lived in Logan County from their birth to their moving West. He believes Maddy’s real father knows the whereabouts of the loot from a James’ train robbery and Maddy can lead him to it.
When Kenneth, Maddy’s estranged husband offers to help her she learns he has secrets more devastating than infidelity.
Maddy’s best friend is her dog and sometimes the only one she is sure she can trust.
Jean Kinsey, mother, granny, Sunday school teacher and author. Lives in Kentucky and loves to write about Kentuckians. She has written and published dozens of short stories, many of them in Chicken Soup for the Soul books Her first novel, The Light Keeper’s Daughter, a historical, was published in 2012. She has a Logan County Trilogy contracted with Desert Breeze Publishing, the next two books to release in 2013.
