Aren’t they bitter-sweet? Some can be fantastic, like when you write the last word of your book and can say, “The End.” And other endings may bring nothing but sadness and grief, like losing a loved one. Either way, the ending may be sad because even though you may be happy that your done with whatever you were doing, you may still miss that time spent on it.
I think of the extras on a Blu-Ray or DVD where the actors, actress, or the director will say how happy they are the movie is done yet they will miss everyone who was involved with the movie as there was a special camaraderie that took place during that time. They seem to make life long friends through the experience. While they may be happy it’s all over, they will miss those they’ve been around as they know it will never be like that again with another group of people as each one brings its own set of specialness to it.
Yet, so many endings have a sadness to it like when someone gets a divorce or the loss of a loved one.
I think of my daughter’s life when I think of an ending. While, yes, it was devastating and shook me to the core, I also have a peace about it. I know that my daughter is up in heaven waiting for me to join her when it’s my time. It’s what makes this end remotely bearable. I thank the Lord everyday for this peace and hope as it’s what has gotten me through.
How about you? Do you have an ending you can share with us? I’d love to hear about yours.
