This might be an age-old question. It’s said that if you say half empty you are a pessimist or maybe a realist, whereas if you say half full you are an optimist. And maybe for even some they think it’s both.
The thing is that either way it is both. So can someone be both a pessimist and an optimist at the same time. I think that maybe there are those few where in some circumstances they are very optimistic about whatever it is while in other situations they are pessimistic.
For me, I consider myself a realist. I don’t think everything is terrible and nothing will have a positive outcome. I know that hope is what got me through those 16 days while Mari was in the hospital. However, I look at things for what they really are. If it looks positive then I have positive things to say about it. However, if the outcome may not be what we’d like but it might go that way, I’d rather know I prepared ahead for both eventualities than to be unprepared and shocked by the outcome.
