Distraction. We can be so easily be distracted over some of the silliest things. Here is a list below from the book:
“1. I have nothing original to write because everything interesting has already been written.
“2. I don’t have enough time right now. I’ll start writing later. I’ll write someday.
“3. What if someone reads what I’ve written?
“4. What if nobody reads what I’ve written?
“5. I have to mow the lawn, clean the closets, wash the car, run a load of laundry right now.
“6. I have to check my email.
“7. I have to answer a few emails.
“8. I have to check my Facebook page.”
Have any of the above been a distraction for you? I know I’ve personally fallen for a couple of them. It’s just so easy to do. To stay focused takes work. It’s in these times where we must dig down deep and get the writing done or whatever we might be doing that needs to get done for our writing. Even if you can only get one sentence written in a day, at least it is something. That might lead to two or even a whole scene. Who knows. The bottomline, just write.
