It’s interesting but if you think about it the life of a writer is one of being solitary, alone, by yourself for long periods of time. Can you handle being along like this for anything length of time or would it drive you crazy. When you have any kind of job from home or business from home, you ultimately have to work by yourself as there isn’t anyone around you pushing you to do whatever needs to be done. As a writer this is even more so. Who’s going to tell you to write. Typically, just yourself. You have to become your own motivating force to do it.
So what will motivate you enough to sit by yourself for anything length of time to write? For me, it’s knowing that when I’m done writing and then editing my book I will be able to start “shopping” for an agent or publisher to publish my book. I’m going to stay positive and say that one day my book will be published and knowing that I will see it on a website like Amazon or in a bookstore like Lifeway motivates me to continue this life of a writer.
And the added bonus is it can be so comforting to do so. I’m able to write so many thoughts and feelings I might have never done if I hadn’t decided to become a writer. So I write. My hope is that somehow my words in the end might touch someone else.
