I really like this. As writers we have so much at our disposal to write about. Every life today is different from someone else’s life. Think about it. We all have our own unique way of looking at things. We can look at two people and think they are living the exact same life. However, if you were to step into the shoes of each one you’d find out that while there are some similarities their lives are different.
Think about identical twins. When I was growing up my mom became friends with a woman by the name of Kathy. They became best friends. Kathy was divorced just like my mom and she had three daughters. Stephanie was the oldest and two years older than me. Then she had identical twins. I don’t remember how long it took me to be able to tell the moment I looked at them I knew who Heather was and Stacie was.
Heather and Stacie may have looked alike but two people couldn’t have been more different. Heather loved to play Barbie’s and all sorts of girlie things while Stacie was a tom boy. She preferred to play with G.I. Joes and Transformers. Heather became my best friend and my brother Erik played with Stacie.
I look at my life and I have a plethora of things I can write about. Right now my concentration will be on my daughter’s memoir of what happened in the hospital as well as the days right after she passed away. Her story is one that is sad, or tragic, but at the same time a blessing and showing how God is there with you the entire time as the tragedy plays out in your life. I sincerely hope that my story will be inspirational for others that no matter how hard or bad things get they will be able to realize God never leaves you. He is there by your side at all times. I mean, how special is that. I know this is what helped me to get through the loss of my daughter. To be honest, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
