On Sunday, October 13, 2013, Part 2 posted. I hope you will enjoy her journey as much I have. One of the most amazing things about God is that He is well able to take true disasters in our life and bring good from them. Any Christian writer certainly knows this. My writing journey began a … [Read more...]
The Journey with June Foster
Please welcome this weeks guest June Foster for The Journey. She answers the question: How have you seen God work in your writing journey? I retired from teaching elementary school in El Paso, Texas. A few years later my husband and I bought an RV and began traveling across the United States, loving every minute of our freedom. I can't describe all the exciting places we visited. Some mornings we'd even wake up and ask ourselves where we wanted to travel today. After a few years, something … [Read more...]
The Journey with Beth Farley
Please welcome this weeks guest Beth Farley for The Journey. She answers the question: How have you seen God work in your writing journey? Why I Chose to Write I didn’t choose to write, God chose me. End of story. No! There is a lot more as to why I am writing and not working full time. Almost a year ago, I was forced to step down from my full time job to working only part time. I was diagnosed with Idiopathic Nephrodic Syndrome; a very fancy title for a kidney disease. I started my writing … [Read more...]
The Journey with Ada Nicholson Brownell
Please welcome this weeks guest Ada Nicholson Brownell for The Journey. She answers the question: How have you seen God work in your writing journey? THE FIRE STILL BURNS When elected president of the youth group in my home church at age 15, our services weren’t the usual three songs and a speaker. We had a service where admission to the meeting was a mirror. The words to the music were backward, so the youth had to look in a mirror to read them. The speaker spoke on our lives … [Read more...]
Choices We Make
How are you changing the world with your choices? Think on this question for a second. How would you answer it? For me, it's more than just my writing. It is when I'm writing about my daughter and sharing my inner most thoughts and feelings on her dedication website (www.mommysangelinheaven.com). Whether my words were to only ever touch one person or millions, I know that in the end I have to be myself. If I am people will be able to see that through what comes out onto the page. I feel freer … [Read more...]
Day 2: Abundance
To have an abundance of whatever is important to you is what matters most. For me, it's the knowledge of writing and knowing my craft top my list. Would I've ever thought that five and half years ago? Nope. I was in blissful unawareness that my life was about to be uprooted and changed forever because in three months I would loss my daughter. Three months after the loss I began to write on her dedication website. It was my outlet during a very hard time in my life as this has, and will always … [Read more...]
The Journey with Terri Main
Please welcome this weeks guest Terri Main for The Journey. She answers the question: How have you seen God work in your writing journey? When I was 18, and recently published, I knelt at the altar one night after church. My knees still worked back then. Now, when I kneel, it's a matter of faith that I'll be able to stand up again. I laid my new pen, the one given to my by my parents as a graduation gift, on the altar and pledged myself to write for God. That was 43 years ago, and I have … [Read more...]
The Journey with Jean Davis
Please welcome this weeks guest Jean Davis for The Journey. She answers the question: How have you seen God work in your writing journey? Ben cheats. I was at a meeting of a Christian writers’ group a few years ago. We’d been given a writing prompt with fifteen minutes to write. I didn’t want to read out loud the drivel I’d come up with. But when it was Ben’s turn, he received accolades. “That’s great, Ben! You wrote that just now?” someone asked. “How did you do that? Your piece … [Read more...]
What Do I Want To Be
I think I can sum that up with just one word: A Writer. Well, I guess that was two words, but still, I've come to realize how much I love writing and that I've been given a gift. God has blessed me with this gift and I couldn't imagine mine life without it now. If you'd asked me five years ago would I think I'd want to write full-time, I'd have said no. At the time, I was grieving the recent loss of my little girl. I hadn't even started her dedication website as that was almost two months off … [Read more...]
Finding Something Interesting This Evening Online
As I sat here writing tonight and then went searching for some graphics, I came across an interesting one that had this on it: When To Shelve the Book You're Writing. Well, that little bit piqued my interest so I click on the graphic and it took me to this blog post: samanthaboyette.com/when-to-shelve-the-book-youre-writing. What this woman had to say was quite interesting. I know in the book I've been writing, or trying to write, every once in a while I think maybe I should move onto a new … [Read more...]
