Today’s topic sounds strange to me. It almost sounds selfish. I think this strikes me funny because I think family is the most important thing there is, as I’m sure most of us feel this way.
Some people haven’t been blessed with a loving and caring family. So to put a story before their family is a no brainer. However, if your family is close, choosing your story over them may make you take pause.
I know I would never write something to intentionally hurt my family. No matter how screwed up we all are because they’re still MY family. However, if writing my story in a way so that it might help others, I may take a second look being very aware of what is being written.
My childhood was anything but easy. Their was abuse. No, I won’t go into details, just know all types happened, as I mentioned before I don’t feel this is the right time or place, but someday I may sit down and do it. I wouldn’t be mean, but I’d tell the truth. I think that choosing your story over relatives just needs to be kept into perspective and done in a considerate way.
