Tapestry of Trust is written by Mary Annslee Urban.
Burned once, school teacher Isabelle Crafton vows to stay from Charlie Hamilton. He let her down once and she isn’t willing to trust her heart again. Trust has never come easy for Isabelle. She never knew her father and was abandoned by her mother at eight. Raised by her great-aunt, Isabelle always tried to make good choices, for fear of losing her aunt’s love as well. But, at eighteen her greatest fear is realized when she learns she’s pregnant from her one intimate encounter with long-time boyfriend Charlie Hamilton.
Charlie, in college on the other side of Texas, doesn’t get back to Isabelle before she’s sent away by her aunt to live in an unwed mother’s home. Isabelle feels betrayed believing Charlie turned his back on her. Six years later, (where the story begins) Graduate student, Charlie Hamilton runs into Isabelle again. He has never loved any one more than her. But, when he received her fateful phone call that cold January day, his fears overtook good judgment. For ten days he pondered, knowing in the end he’d do the right thing, but when he called to speak to Isabelle, she was gone.
Raised by social conscious parents, Charlie’s mother never liked him dating Isabelle. The pressure she put on Charlie only made matters worse. Now six years later, more mature and a new Christian, he hopes to make his and Isabelle’s relationship right again. When Isabelle finally agrees to talk to Charlie, two different versions of their history evolve. More confused than ever, Isabelle takes a trip back to her Aunt’s house to unravel the truth. As the truth is revealed, trust and forgiveness replace the painful memories for both Isabelle and Charlie making a tender reconciliation possible.
The story behind Tapestry of Trust
After my older children started into their high school years I became aware of the type of television, books and entertainment that was directed at teens today. My love of reading and writing inspired me to pass on a legacy of values through stories inspired by God. I wanted my stories to both entertain and remind that forgiveness and grace are the Lord’s promises for those who love HIM.
