You can’t be in an office work space surrounded by people who constantly interrupt you. Scenes can flow out of you fluidly which requires sitting down and getting it all out on paper. Writing is a peculiar art in that as writers we do like to be alone. Quite frankly I think many of us thrive on it. I know I do. I need quiet. No TV playing in the background. No stereo. No one talking to me. Just me alone with my favorite PhD mechanical pencil voraciously scribbling away on my college ruled binder paper.
Once I bring my head above water again I can either take a break or dive right back in to another scene. I feel alive in those moments. They truly make me happy. And it has taken me many years to get to this spot to realize what writing has enabled me to do.
My sincerest hope is that everyone can truly find the same kind of peace and happiness I have.
